install windows XP di HP Compaq V3000 series
Pren, tolong solusinya. Pas mau install ulang winXP, hardisk laptop teman gak terbaca, padahal sy janji ini malam dah bisa dipake lagi” Awi, ketua kelas waktu SMA mendadak menelpon tadi malam. Aha, dapat lagi masalah seperti ini. Dulu dengan Toshiba (kalo gak salah Satellite L310) pernah jg dapat masalah yg sama. Oh, ya. Acer juga (Aspire 4310 (?)). Begitu mau diinstal, hardisk tidak terdeteksi.
Setelah diperiksa, ternyata masalahnya sama saja. Ada hubungannya dengan chipset ATA dan SATA (detailnya gak tau, buta ttg masalah itu). belajar dari pengalama terdahulu, langsung sj digoggling di net. Dan, dapat!!
Ternyata ada beberapa solusi yang dapat dilakukan :
1. Gunakan pancingan berupa flopy drive external untuk membaca driver dari hard disk SATA pada notebook ini, mungkin cara ini aga sedikit rumit karena dibutuhkan flopy drive tambahan dan bootable disk yang tersedia driver untuk hardis SATA yang tertanam pada notebook ini
2. Diinstal dengan WinXP Black Edition
3. Gabungkan SATA driver v3000 dengan installer cd WinXP
karena cara 1 dan 2 saya tdk bisa (tidak ada flopi external dan CD winXP Blac Ed, maka saya pilih cara ke3:
1. Donlod driver SATA dari : http://www.siliconimage.com/docs/311…idvr-12057.zip
2. Gabung driver tersebut dengan installer winXP (bisa pake nLite)
3. Install windows XP seperti biasa

masih bingung? ini ada cara yg lebih gampang (katanya). Sebenarnya Compaq (pada seri tertentu) sudah menanamkan driver-driver yang dibutuhkan untuk menginstall ulang OS. Pada saat booting, tekan F11, terus next-next saja (baca dan ikuti baik2 perintahnya). Jangan lupa membackup semua data terlebih dahulu.

Easy to install – Some say that GNU/Linux installation is a nightmare, well not anymore. Recently released GNU/Linux distributions like Ubuntu are now easier to install than Windows. Installing Ubuntu on your computer will take only a few clicks and the installation will take less than an hour. Ubuntu offers three types of installation methods for new and expert users. Live CD – Recommended for newer users. The live cd lets you try Ubuntu first before installing it in your PC. If you decide to install, it will only take a few clicks to install Ubuntu in your PC. Regular release cycle – Because of its rapid development and active community participation, new version is available to the public everysix months. Ubuntu users will always have the latest applications and support for the new hardware. Free updates – You get free security updates for at least 18 months on the desktop and server. With the Long Term Support (LTS) version you get three years support on the desktop, and five years on the server. Ease of getting documentation – Many documentations and informations on how to do things in Ubuntu are available out there on the internet. Just google it and you will find thousands of Ubuntu-related blog postings, wiki, articles and Ubuntu hacks. Lots of available applications – There are many software available in Ubuntu, you can have it installed by typing apt-get command from the console, using synaptic package manager, or you can download from a third party software repository like GetDeb.
APA BEDANYA NETBOOK & NOTEBOOK?
- Fungsionalitas, merupakan perbedaan yang paling mendasar. Netbook ditujukan bagi pengguna yang bersifat content consumption sementara notebook lebih kepada pengguna yangcontent maker. Pengguna netbook lebih cocok untuk pengguna yang menggunakan perangkat ini untuk beinternet, chatting, mendengarkan musik dan video. Kalau notebook tugasnya lebih berat lagi, dan lebih cocok untuk mereka yang menciptakan suatu konten, seperti mengedit video dan gambar.
- Ukuran : Netbook memiliki ukuran layar terbatas antara 7 -10 inch, sedangkan notebook minimal memiliki layar 10 inch dan maksimal 17 inch. Netbook tidak bakal dibuat dengan layar melebihi 10 inch. Kalau sudah melebihi itu bukan netbook lagi. Ketersediaan input dan output di netbook juga lebih terbatas. Dengan ukuran yang lebih mungil dan praktis, perangkat ini tidak memiliki optical disk drive dan hanya mengandalkan slot USB. Alasannya karena netbook sengaja dibuat seringkas mungkin untuk memudahkan dibawa penggunanya. Hal itu sejalan dengan kegunaannya lebih condong ke content consumption.
- Harga : Rata-rata netbook dibanderol di kisaran 2,5 juta sampai 4 juta rupiah sedangkan notebook minimal 4,5 juta rupiah.
- Satu lagi, Intel (?) pernah mengklaim bahwa istilah netbook hanya boleh digunakan untuk produk yang mereka miliki, sehingga vendor lain sama sekali tidak boleh menggunakan istilah netbokk tersebut. Bagaiamana menurut anda?
